Hi {FIRSTNAME} and welcome to today's issue of Keeping in Touch.
A big, warm 'hello' to all our new subscribers.
For those of you who use AOL for receiving your ezines or
affiliate information, you may have a problem. AOL has
determined that their system will only accept 100 messages from
the same source. For example, if I only have 67 subscribers with
an AOL address, there isn't a problem. If I have 167 subscribers
with an AOL address, only 100 will receive the ezine and we don't
know what happens to the rest of the issues.
Some publishers have stated this as fact and others suggest that
it is a rumor. I've done some research into this matter and in
all honesty, I haven't been able to determine whether this is
fact or fiction.
I first heard about this possibility almost two weeks ago and
have been gathering information from fellow publishers and it
appears this rule has been implemented. If you use AOL and can
help enlighten me for the reasoning behind this move, please

Many ISPs have developed very strict filters to avoid s*p*a*m
from getting through their services into your Inbox.
Unfortunately it has been causing no end to the frustrations your
publishers encounter in trying to deliver an ezine you subscribed
to. While filters are basically a good thing, many go overboard
and will eliminate messages you want to receive simply due to the
fact the message may contain a word or phrase included in their
filters.
If you are aware of some of the filters your ISP uses, try to
send yourself a message with some of the phrasing or keywords
they use to set their filters. You may find that even a message
you send to your Mom will disappear into cyberspace.
Either no one is doing business these days or you have been too
busy to write about it and send it in. <grin> Please feel free
to share a bit about yourself, the product or service you are
promoting or even one you have developed yourself. I happen to
know for a fact we have quite a bit of talent amongst our
subscribers. Don't be shy. And yes, I'll have one in there too

Be on the alert for messages that appear to come from e-gold
asking you to confirm your details. As with PayPal, remember
these companies will NEVER ask you to confirm your details by
email. The e-gold message looks pretty good and it's an html
message so it would be simple to get caught if you aren't paying
attention. Please do not respond to such a message. If you
want to be on the safe side, you can log in to your account and
change your details.

comes to us from Joshua Rose. Affiliate programs are a terrific
way to start earning money as you develop your own internet
presence. The key here is creating a unique position with your
target audience. As you outline the benefits of your particular
program or service, let your customer know that you are someone

How To Get Your Affiliate Sales Rolling!

What can Michael Jordan, Ed McMahon and hundreds of other high
profile product endorsers teach you about cashing in with
Affiliate sales? Tons! In effect, they're Super Affiliates.
After all, what is the role of an Affiliate? It's to gain sales
by endorsing a product.
Would Nike have sold as many sneakers without Mike? Or, would
The Publishers Clearing House have sold all those magazines
without Ed? Not a chance.
Why are companies willing to pay their endorsers such big bucks?
Simple. They know all too well that *trust and credibility*
sells.
Let's put it this way: What if Nike had hired me, Joshua Rose,
to endorse their products? Pretty ridiculous, huh? Why in the
world would someone buy some Nike's if I told them to? They
wouldn't.
It's exactly the same in the online world. Why should someone
buy a product you're endorsing as an Affiliate? Who are you?
Why should I listen to you? I don't know you. Your endorsement
is next to meaningless, sorry.
If you want my business, you must first convince me that you're
worth listening to in the first place. But gain my respect and
trust, and the opportunities are endless.
The key to Affiliate success is to at first focus your efforts
*away* from your products and *towards* marketing vehicles that
give you the opportunity to win trust. In other words, the first
essential step to Affiliate success is to SELL YOURSELF.
For example:
***Write a 3-10 part Free Report brimming with insightful and
useful information and I'll start paying attention to you.
***Publish a newsletter with more of the same. And let me get
a sense of who you are as a person. I like what I see. Now I'll
think more seriously about your endorsements.
***Write a Free E-book that's going to help me. It can be in
your own words or a compilation of the work of others. Help me
and you'll gain my respect ... and my ear.
***Submit articles to ezines. The more I see your name, the more
credibility I'll associate with you. I'll sign-up for your
newsletter to learn what else you have to say.
***Show me that you've used the products you're suggesting. How,
exactly did you benefit? What were the results? Is there any
downside at all? (You see? Now you've got me paying attention
and asking for more information).
Get the idea? Affiliate sales are all about building
relationships, not promoting products. You can promote until
you're green in the face, but if you haven't developed a personal
relationship with your prospects, and earned their respect and
trust, it's unlikely you'll ever get more than a handful of
sales.
And remember this, Affiliate success does not come overnight.
Like anything worthwhile, it takes effort and commitment.
The good news is that once you establish who you are and win
the respect of your leads, it does indeed become easier.
After successfully crossing the trust and credibility threshold,
it's not difficult to transfer this influence to additional
top-notch products and opportunities.

How to do Everything

"I guess I'm going to have to get used to the idea that I
can't do everything I want to do," my coaching client said.
At first, I didn't say anything about this, and we continued
talking. His statement stuck in my mind, so much so that, a
few seconds later, I stopped him in mid-sentence. "Wait a
minute," I said, "why, exactly, can't you do everything?"
The question startled us both, really, but as we discussed
it, we discovered that it *is* possible to do "everything"
you want to do, if you keep the following points in mind...
1. You can do everything, but not all at once.
The biggest obstacle I find keeping individuals from
accomplishing all that they want to do, is that they try to
do too much all at once. Their wish-list of goals and
activities gets longer and longer, and each item is given
the same priority: ASAP!
Despite what we've been led to believe in our modern age of
multi-tasking computers and mega-time-saving devices,
gizmos, and gadgets, most people can only do one thing at a
time.
2. You can do everything, if it's important enough to you to
do.
When reviewing people's lists of "everything" they want to
do, I find that many of us have items and activities that
ended up on our lists by default. We added them because
somebody else said we should do them or because we thought,
at the time, they'd be important... only now they're not.
If it's truly important to you, you'll find the time and way
to do it. If it's not important, you'll keep avoiding,
postponing and procrastinating about it. If that's the case,
scratch it off your list and move on.
3. You can do everything, but you may not be the BEST at
everything.
If your goal is to be the BEST in every field of endeavor
you're trying to pursue then chances are you're setting
yourself up for disappointment. This is especially true if
you have many diverse areas of interest.
For example, you may have goals in the areas of
entrepreneurship, writing, politics, and singing. While it's
possible you might create a very successful retail business
while writing a best-selling novel, getting elected a state
senator, and releasing a top-of-the-charts album of your
favorite t.v. theme show songs, it's not very probable.
Strive, work hard, and apply yourself at every activity, but
keep in mind that being the best requires a great deal of
time, focus, and energy that you may not be able to commit
if you're going in 100 different directions.
4. You can do everything, but there will be limitations.
Every activity, every goal, brings it's own set of limiting
factors that will effect your participation. Things like time,
health, money, age, sex, weather, policies, etc. Some
of these are changeable, some are not.
5. You can do everything, but not by yourself.
Oh, you can try, but the more you attempt to do, the more
help you'll need to get it all done.
Success is rarely a solo adventure. Surround yourself with
successful, encouraging, and uplifting people who will
inspire and support you as you pursue your dreams. After
all, once you make your dreams come you, you'll want to
share them with someone.

Use Your Browser Offline
Much of the Internet is moving towards HTML coding for email.
Some of the older email readers (clients) however, are not able
to properly read the HTML coding, and therefore you can't read
it.
Well, like most things, there is a "work-around". Email that is
in HTML coding is actually a web page sent as an email, and you
can use your web browser to read it. You do not have to be online
to do this.
To read this offline, position your mouse cursor anyplace in the
body of the note and "right-click" on it. A pop-up menu will
appear, and select "Send to Browser". Now you can view the HTML
email in a fully opened web page. Pretty Nifty!
