Can You Feel The Panic?
Lois M. Jeary, 2003

Judging by some of the 'products' showing up on the internet today, it's pretty obvious that there is a sense of panic within the ranks of marketers.

In a discussion earlier today between a few business associates it became apparent that there is a sense of unrest and uncertainty about the direction the Internet is going to take. The evidence of this uncertainty is obvious by virtue of some of the new products being presented.

So many of the 'latest and greatest' products are just another re-hash, copycat or modification of a previously released 'blaze', 'blaster' or 'terminator' type program. What happened to creativity?

These desperate campaigns just end up in the trash with all the other junk I didn't ask for. Why? They don't offer me anything with substance. They simply provide a method for the blind to follow the big sheep, blindly. The followers keep buying products and services they don't necessarily want or need and in the end, they don't have a viable business for themselves.

When developing your own product or service, the bottom line is that it should fulfill a need that your potential customer has and your message should go to a targetted audience. You should keep this in mind when selecting an affiliate program as well.

With email all but dead in the water, it was obvious that the time had come to look to alternate methods of delivery for my ezine.

Quite a few publishers have chosen to use rss feeds or weblogs to deliver their content. Unfortunately, most don't offer any support on how to set it up. It's up to the subscriber to decide whether they want to go through the techie stuff to get it up and running properly. Using a straight weblog or rss feed doesn't offer a communication medium either.

Now unless a subscriber sets up your blog as a favorite, they'll likely not be back anytime soon. The other problem is that you'll still be using email when sending out a special notice to your subscribers.

Quikonnex is an outstanding direct-to-desktop publishing service that is user-friendly to both the publisher and the subscriber. Now getting your message to your audience has never been easier. While offering media-rich content management, Quikonnex also offers two-way communication without the use of email. The support of the people behind Quikonnex is amazing and you don't need to concern yourself with any of the techie stuff - they've taken care of it for you.

To be on the cutting edge of this publication medium you will be required to download a small 'reader' program that is completely safe. There are no hidden or malicious files. Your content is updated automatically and your subscriber doesn't have to do anything else. Each issue arrives on their desktop automatically, unaltered. Your privacy is totally respected.

Now you'll be free of time wasting list maintenance tasks. You won't have to deal with bounced mail or undeliverable mail. This will be the end of 'masking' words so that your issue will hopefully bypass the filters. Subscribers will be in complete control of their subscriptions. Your readers will be able to comment directly on an item, product or service you offer. This ability provides the interactive platform that has been missing for some time.

Quikonnex is a service that I'm proud to share with others. It definitely fulfills a need that publishers have in today's Internet. I should note here that you don't have to be a publisher to use the service. If you have a sizeable group of people you need to keep in touch with on a regular basis, you won't find anything better than Quikonnex.

You can put an end to your feeling of frustration and be publishing using your own Quikonnex Channel today. Try it. You'll be glad you did.
